Obviously, I lived this, since I wrote the poetry and edited this video using some of the most astounding footage ever captured imho. Think of it: The first-ever Mt. Everest Mountain Bike Rally. The end-all and be-all of mountain bike rides. Kudos to DP Marco Eveslage, a Nat Geo camera op, and director Mark Schulze, who pulled off the most incredible shoot at the Top of the World, in the face of frigid weather, rugged trails, marauding dogs, drunken monks and a near riot caused when I kissed my husband, Mark, at a religious celebration. Looking back, I can see how magical it all was, albeit not without its intense challenges. And the idea that only three people (a writer, a videographer and a director, mountain bikers all) could create a work that would typically involve hundreds of crew members - it's mind-boggling. - Patty Mooney
